A short story

How I found the thing.

One

The kitchen table question.

Back in the 8th grade, my dad asked me how his company should promote itself. I was meant to say something small. I said a lot.

I still remember the napkin.

Two

The feeling that stayed.

I enjoyed every minute of it. It felt like something made for me, and I was genuinely happy doing the work.

That part never left.

Three

It has a name.

He told me the field had a name: marketing. He thought it might be my thing.

He was right.

Four

No going back.

Since then I have been researching, getting involved and constantly making new ideas. I have not stopped once.

Still going.

Where that leaves me

Eighteen, freelancing and still drafting ideas nobody asked me for.
